When our first child was born in 2001 our goal was to help him get to know the people he would soon cherish... his grandparents. When our second child arrived, I felt an even greater need to keep both my children connected with their grandparents. This became particularly important as they lived far away in Minnesota. It was a priority for us that during visits, our children would be familiar with their caring voices. It occurred to me that if I could record them reading a book to our children on CD, and have them send us the book, we could sit at bedtime and listen to Grandma and Grandpa reading them the bedtime story. My father-in-law chose a book to read, but never got a chance to record it. Unfortunately, he passed away and my son and daughter will never know him. It would have been wonderful if they had a beautiful recording of their Grandpa reading a story to them. What a special keepsake, showing his grandchildren how much he loved them.

Cherished Voices' goal is to assist children with their life transitions that sometimes mean they are unable to be with someone they love as often as they like. Whether that is a deployed parent, a far away grand- parent or a traveling parent, our CD's will bring the comfort of hearing their voices when loved ones can't be there. We want our CD packages to bring children joy, familiarity, and smiles because they now have the ability to fall asleep listening to the voices they love.
